Auto Reboot
Auto Reboot feature is your first line of defense against common mining issues
Overview
By automatically rebooting miners based on conditions you define, OptiFleet significantly reduces the need for manual intervention, while keeping your mining fleet operating at peak efficiency.
Key Benefits:
- Reduces manual technician workload
- Addresses common issues like frozen miners and heat problems
- Helps maintain optimal hashrates across your fleet
- Operates around the clock with minimal oversight
How Auto Reboot Works
OptiFleet's intelligent system monitors your mining equipment and automatically checks your predefined rules on a predefined interval. When conditions are met, the system executes reboots according to the rules. You can also set limits that prevent rebooting at certain times of the day, in certain conditions, and if the miner has already been rebooted a set number of times in the last 24 hours.
Auto Reboot settings and logs can be found under Management > Auto Reboot.
The dashboard displays:
- Logs: View previously triggered reboots
- Rules: Set up and manage rules from customizable presets
Permissions:
- Facility Admins: Can edit, delete, and create new rules
- Facility Techs: Can activate/deactivate existing rules
Pro Tip: Regular monitoring of your reboot logs helps you identify patterns and optimize your rules for better performance.
Managing Auto Reboot Rules
Click Rule List in the top right corner to see the current rules.
Press the Edit button next to a rule to see the details and make any changes. Save any changes.
You can make the rule Activeor Inactive. Inactive rules will not run, but you can save them for use later. You can also delete rules with the trashcan icon
Creating Rules from Smart Presets
OptiFleet includes intelligent presets that provide proven configurations for common mining scenarios.
Step 1: Click Presets in the top right corner
Step 2: Choose from available preset categories:
- Low Hash Rate Miners: Targets underperforming equipment
- Non-Hashing Miners: Catches online and not performing at all.
- Fan Speed Errors: Addresses cooling system issues
- Initialization Errors: Handles startup problems
- Rejected Shares Percentage: Manages network connectivity issues
- No Shares Submitted: Identifies communication failures
Step 3: Customize preset settings to match your specific requirements
Step 4: Save your rule and if desired, activate it immediately
Presets are starting templates that are customizable. They're designed based on industry best practices but should be adjusted for your specific operation.
Configuring Custom Rule Settings
Rule Name: Use descriptive names that clearly identify the rule's purpose
Condition Threshold: Set specific performance criteria (e.g., miners operating below 80% capacity)
Duration Requirement: Define how long conditions must persist before triggering action (e.g., 30 minutes)
Evaluation Scope: Choose what the rule monitors:
- Entire mining fleet
- Specific operational zones
- Custom miner selections
Setting Auto Reboot Limits
Protect your operation with intelligent safeguards:
Step 1: Click Manage Limits to configure exclusion conditions
Step 2: Click Add New Limit
Step 3: Set up standard protective measures:
- Temperature Limits: Automatically references weather data for your location
- Time Restrictions: Prevent reboots during critical operational hours
- Reboot Frequency: Limit maximum reboots per miner per 24-hour period
- Miner Temperature Limits: Protects equipment if too hot to reboot.
- Short Uptime: Prevent reboots in short spurts.
Step 3: Use Manage Limits for advanced custom conditions
Important: Time restrictions work as exclusions. To reboot only during night hours, exclude daytime hours from your rule.
Exporting Reboot Logs
Step 1: Click Export in the top right corner
Step 2: Download comprehensive reports containing current reboot log data
Use exported data for:
- Performance analysis
- Compliance reporting
- Historical trend analysis
- ROI calculations
