Daily Triage

Best practices for maximizing operations, hashrate, and profitability using OptiFleet

Overview

We recommend starting each shift with a standard triage workflow, helping facility operators quickly identify and prioritize the most impactful issues and ensuring that technicians focus on problems that will restore hashrate fastest.

Business Impact:

  • Maximized Uptime: Systematic identification of highest-impact issues
  • Optimized Labor: Technicians focus on problems with greatest ROI
  • Reduced Downtime: Faster resolution of critical operational issues
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Clear prioritization based on performance metrics

Triage Workflow

OptiFleet's Daily Triage follows a proven three-phase approach:

  1. Site Assessment: Use the site overview and other tools to get a quick view of overall operational status
  2. Prioritize Work: Now that you've assessed the site, prioritize and assign work based on impact to overall hashrate and urgency.
  3. Critical Issue Resolution: Use the Impact Panel to determine whether to attack non-hashing or low-hashing miners first.
  4. Performance Optimization: Systematically tackle longer-term issues to make incremental improvements.

Phase 1: Site Assessment

Get a comprehensive overview of your facility's operational status and identify immediate priorities.

Site Overview
  • Examine the Uptime section for offline miners. Click the link to see a selected list of the offline miners. Offline miners produce zero hashrate and typically require immediate attention
  • Use the Hashing impact panel to address non-hashing and low hashing miners. Click on the corresponding line in the panel to go directly to a list of the miners with this issue.
  • Review the Site Utilization box for unassigned miners. This means that OptiFleet sees the miner but does not know its location. Address these to make sure you can easily locate and fix each miner.
  • Look at the Hash Rate graph to assess any problems that happened in the last 24 hours.
  • Look at the Zones panel at the bottom of the Site Overview to see if any Zones are struggling more than others - this could suggest a pattern or issue such as an infrastructure failure or environmental issue.
Site Map
  • Visually inspect the site to identify potential problem areas. Leverage the various metrics available in the dropdown at the top to analyze the site from multiple perspectives.

Issues List

  • IN addition to low and non hashing, you can also see miners with manufacturer errors to assist in diagnostics. You can also see unassigned miner (which means optif doesn't knowwhere).

Phase 2: Prioritize Work Based on Impact & Urgency

Recommended work flow:

  • Address critical site-wide issues first, including connectivity, safety, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Next, prioritize offline and non-hashing miners to drive immediate hashrate recovery.
  • Next, low-hashing miners for further hashrate optimization.
  • Use reboots and power cycling for rapid remediation. If issues persist, proceed to advanced diagnostics to isolate faults and identify units requiring repair.

Phase 3: Critical Issue Resolution

  • Soft reboot: from the Issues or Miner list, select the miners you want to reboot. Go to the Actions  dropdown and select Reboot.
  • Hard reboot: power cycle the miner at its physical location if soft reboot is not effective.
  • Use Blink Miner to locate miners for physical intervention. Example: if you have three miners in a container you need to pull for repair, you can use blink miner to quickly locate them.
  • UnassignedLocated Unassigned miners from the Site Overview or from the dropdown in Miner List. Locate the miners and enter the location into OptiFleet. You can also use IP Report in the site map to link a miner to a location.
  • Individual Miner Dashboard: Detailed info about miner that can show fan failures or hashboard problems.

Phase 4: Performance Optimization

  • Continue tracking miners that have undergone a reboot or have displayed recurring issues to determine whether there are persistent problems that may require repair intervention.
  • Set auto reboots with custom triggers
  • To find miners that are not hashing for a longer period of time , open the Performance Report and select a 12- or 24-hour timeframe. Sort by lowest hashrate to identify underperforming miners.
