Working with Pool Settings in OptiFleet
Add Pool URL and Subaccount to the Miners
Pool Management
To access Pool settings, click Management > Sites in the left navigation. Then choose the site you want to work on. Go to the Pool Config tab, and you will see the Pool Configurations screen. To be able to create Pool settings, you will need Facility Admin permissions.
Allowed Pools & Accounts
For security, you may want to set up a list of pool URLs and subaccounts that you want to allow. That means that anyone at the facility tech permission level can configure pools for miners, but they will be limited to the miners on the allow list. This can help prevent someone from adding a pool or subaccount that isn't approved for use, which can be a security issue.
To add a new pool or subaccount to your allowed list, click on Add Pool or Add Subaccount.
You will then be prompted to enter the pool URL after entering the required information. Confirm by clicking on Add Pool. Add Subaccount works the same way.
Approved Pool Configuration
Select Approved Pool Configuration to pop up a window where you can set a standard pool config you want your miners to use. The dropdown arrows will select from your list of allowed pools and subaccounts.
You can also set the worker name template here.
There is a checkbox at the bottom which says "Force any pool not on the config back to the standard settings. If you check that box, you enable a useful security feature. If someone sets a different pool, OptiFleet will pick that up on its next regular scan and set it back to your standard config. Even if the person has gone into the miner directly to enter an unapproved or malicious pool, OptiFleet will pick that up and force your settings back. This closes a big security hole where someone accidentally or purposefully may hash to an account or wallet that isn't yours.
Pooling the Miners
To deploy pool settings t othe miners,go to the miner list, select the desired miners. Click on the action button and choose the option to configure the selected miners.
Here you can enter information directly by selecting Pool URL and Account information from the allow list. Or you can the Select Configs dropdown to auto-load the standard configs you saved earlier.
The Manage Pools link will take you back to the Pool Management area to modify or update your Allowed Pools and Accounts and/or standard Pool Configs.
Please enter a password and save your changes to complete the process. Your miners should now have pool settings.
